Full of butter and with its intense dark chocolate, this cake is the perfect combination of sweetness and bitterness. If you don’t like sweets to much you might like this cake as the dark chocolate will neutralized the excess of sweetness. It is a very easy and fast recipe, and you only need a couple ingredients!

There is only one word for the Fondant au chocolat: decadent!

Let’s start cooking!

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup soft butter
  • 7 oz baking dark chocolate (unsweetened is better)
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

1- Preheat oven at 305 F (150 C). Mix the soft butter and the sugar with an electric whipper until smooth.

2- Add the eggs and then the flour. Keep mixing so the mixture stay smooth.

3- Melt the chocolate with some water and add it to the mixing bowl.

4- Mix well and add the vanilla extract.

5- Butter a cake pan and coat the inside with some flour. Pour the mixture and let the pan fall on the table from an inch or two. This will chase the air inside the cake. Bake for 25-30 min.

6- Once it is cooked, let the cake cool down. Flip it over a plate and decorate with icing sugar.

You see? so easy and delicious! Remember that the most important thing for this recipe is to obtain a very fluid and smooth preparation, and don’t cut out on the butter! I know it is a lot of butter but this is also what gives it this incredible fondant texture.
